Healtharena’s Heritage

In  1982 Diane opened her first retail health shop in Ashington, Northumberland, the town where she was born. It sold mainly loose natural foods, including nuts, pulses, grains and dried fruit etc.

By 1989 she had opened a further 3 health stores, now also selling herbal remedies, sports supplements and natural skincare.

Over the years she has completed extensive training in health and nutrition and has travelled worldwide to bring new products to the UK.

Diane was also a guest columnist in the health trade magazine called Natural Products News.  She visited Natural Products West USA Health Show, in California and Natural Products News asked her to look for the next best innovative health supplement.

“I saw quite a few products at the show that looked interesting and which weren’t available in the UK. One I was particularly interested in was a collagen supplement. I attended various lectures there by doctors, skin specialists, nutritionists and naturopaths, who had been successfully using collagen for many years in their clinics, with positive results. So, it became my mission to research this further.”

After returning to the UK Diane found no suitable collagen products were available. So, she spent the next year looking into the various types of collagen and the best raw ingredient supply companies to use for a supplement.

“I eventually found a prominent UK health food supplement contract manufacturer to have a premium quality collagen supplement made, to my own formulation.”

This is how Healtharena’s first collagen supplement came about.
